Week 5: Airbrushed Clothing
For the airbrushed clothing theme we were in teams of two, so Aryn and I partnered up. The assignment was to do a shirt, but we choose to bump it up and do a mini dress. The style of dress we chose was a Chinese QiPao.
We had a few hang ups with equipment and other things but we powered through it and managed to finish just in time. The clasps are real and glued on, we both did the base coat of red, Aryn did the wrinkles, I did the trim and flowers, he did the two dragons. We took pics in the hallway of the school in front of a white wall and chose later to do a background swap. The umbrella was hand a hand painted prop by yours truly. Enjoy.

Our grade for the project: 99%
Week 4: Carnival Theme
For the carnival make up theme I choose to do a harlequin inspired make up. This one is mostly costume and just face make up, but the costume is homemade, so I spent most of the week fixing it up.
I replaced the background for this one with a carousel, it wasn’t to hard but needed some work here and there. An extra touch that i added was to lower the opacity of the blue sheer fabric around her arms and legs to make it semi see through in some places

Aryn’s Project:
For Aryn, he knew exactly what he was going to do for this theme weeks ago. He wanted to paint his friend Mike as a creepy/sketchy clown. He was thinking more dark carnival, and this was the one he was most looking forward to.

Week 3: Mythology Theme
For the mythology make up theme I choose to do a satyr inspired make up. with grape vines painted on. The costume belongs to the model (my friend), he had made it a few years ago for Halloween.
The background was pretty hap hazard, but it was the best we could do. A background swap wouldn’t work because of the fur. Too much work, but i made do, and here is the final image.

Aryns Project:
Aryn choose to do a take on the Egyptian Cat Goddess Bastet. He made the cat ear headband, and painted on most of her jewelry. The real jewelry and the dress was mailed to us by my mom from her costume collection.

My grade for the project: Not marked yet
Week 2: Pop Art / Comic Book Theme
For the comic book make up theme I choose to do a Frank Miller inspired make up.
The idea was to make her look like a comic book from every angle. The shadows are painted on.
There were SO many good shots it was hard to choose. Here are 2 of the best one before i added blood and one after. I submited the first one to be marked.

I felt I got really good shots, and it looked amazing in real life, I didn’t need to photoshop much at all. I would have gotten a higher grade but the teacher didn’t like that the black around the eyes wasn’t darker… I left it lighter because i wanted the eyes to look real still, while everything else looked drawn.
My grade for the project: 98.5%
Aryns Project:
For Aryns project he choose the comic Tank Girl, as his inspiration. I helped him make the costume/wardrobe for her. He spent a lot of time in photoshop going around every edge to make a thick black pen line, and he also did a background swap.

Aryns Grade for this Project: 100%
Week 1: Ethnic Theme
For the ethnic make up theme I choose a voodoo priestess. I bought some fabric for a head wrap, and the rest of the costume is fabric the school had. I hand made the tooth necklace, and many other props that didn’t make it into these photos, such as a death rattle and a voodoo doll.
Here are 2 of the best shots, though i ended up submitting the candle picture as my final image.

My grade for the project: 96%
Aryns Project:
Aryns project was inspired by Celtic and Scottish art. He chose his friend Ryder as a model and made some props for the photoshoot including hand making the leather gauntlets. Ryder has NO tattoos of his own, the ones you see were painted on. He also chose to do a background swap to further showcase the highland and Scottish feel to his work.

Aryns Grade for this project: 97%

week 1 starts today! I’ll post the photo when it’s complete!
Final Project for the Photography Module.
So we had to do a make up design for our final project, we were in teams of two, and Aryn and I choose to kick some ass and do a body painting. Which we were allowed to do if you supplied our own paint. We were the only ones who choose to do a body painting. Here is what we came up with.

There was a lot of thought put into this project, and it was also kind of a homage to your photography teacher Ray, whom we would not be having again, X-Ray (lol bad pun)
The model was AMAZING, I’m looking forward to working with her again some time.
Final Grade: Still haven’t been told…. *pout*
Fantasy Theme Airbrush Test
So the test was to do a Fantasy theme on the upper body. I chose to do a puzzle of a blue sky with a cherry blossom tree. We didn’t need models for this, instead classmates modeled for each other. My model/classmate, was pretty tired and didn’t smile much, but here is the finished product!

Grade for this: 100%

More stuffs

Aryn’s kit left, my kit right. His has all the same stuff that mine has on display. Only difference is that our cases are a little different.

Oh and the purple dots on mine are to mark mine as belonging to me. Aryn as blue ones on all his items.
And this is just to start. We’ll get more to add to them as the year goes on and we start new sections such as air brushing and Monster making.
First Day of School :3
So tonight was the first class of college, it went really well and we got our kick ass makeup kits that were included with tuition.
Stock photo, of the case, i’ll get some real pics soon.

Now picture that filled with make up and make up tools. :D
Again i’m taking a year long course for make-up and special effects make-up. 50 weeks, 5 days a week, 4hr class’s, 6pm - 10pm.
Most of the class was just going through everything in the kits, and also setting up a work station. Tomorrow we start color theory.
I’m glad our class is full of nice people, it’s a night class to everyone is a responsible adult, there are no 18 or 19 year olds who are fresh out of high school. So no stuck up bitches who think their shit don’t stink. Glad our teacher is really nice too.
The funny part of the night was the theatre class next door was practicing their singing. One of the acting students was singing “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley and we could hear him really well, some times over the teacher.

That’s right; our first class of college and we all got ‘Rick Rolled’… This is course going to be too much fun! lol :XD
